Terms and rules

1. Content

   1. The providers ("we", "us", "our") of the service provided by this web site ("Service") are not responsible for any user-generated content and accounts. Content submitted express the views of their author only.
   2. Any references made or opinions given regarding the legalities of constructing a garden room or other outbuilding and the need or otherwise for planning permission and/or building regulations/control represent the views of their author only and should not be relied upon or considered as fact without seeking individual advice from the appropriate planning department/s in your area and/or region of the UK.
   3. All content you submit, upload, or otherwise make available to the Service (including, but not limited to, text, photographs, images, illustrations, designs, audio clips, video clips, "look and feel," metadata, data, or compilations, all collectively known as the "Content") may be reviewed by staff members. All Content you submit or upload may be sent to third-party verification services (including, but not limited to, spam prevention services). Do not submit any Content that you consider to be private or confidential.
   4. The Content of the Service is intended for your personal, non-commercial use. Non-commercial use does not include the use of Content without prior written consent from us in connection with: (i) the development of any software program, model, algorithm, or other generative AI tool, including, but not limited to, training or using the Content in connection with the development or operation of a machine learning or artificial intelligence (AI) system (including any use of the Content for training, fine tuning, or grounding the machine learning or AI system or as part of retrieval-augmented generation); or (ii) providing archived or cached data sets containing Content to another person or entity.
   5. We may remove or modify any Content submitted at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Requests for Content to be removed or modified will be undertaken only at our discretion. We may terminate your access to all or any part of the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice.
   6. You are granting us with a non-exclusive, permanent, irrevocable, unlimited license to use, publish, or re-publish your Content in connection with the Service. You retain copyright over the Content that you have created.
   7. You may download or copy the Content and other downloadable items contained on the Service for your personal use only, provided that you maintain all copyright and other notices contained in the Content and other downloadable items. Copying or storing of any Content, other than for personal use, is expressly prohibited without prior written permission from us, or the copyright holder identified in the copyright notice contained in the Content.

2. Use of the Service

   1. This Service is only available to users who are at least 16 years old. If you are younger than this, please do not register for this Service. If you register for this Service, you represent that you are this age or older.
   2. You agree not to use the Service to submit or link to any Content which is defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws. You are entirely responsible for the content of, and any harm resulting from, that Content or your conduct.
   3. You will not question the judgement or actions of the Service staff or moderators.
   4. You may not access the Service through automated or programmatic means (such as through a content scraper) without prior permission from us.
   5. When posting Content you agree that:
      1. You will not submit any material which is, or could be, libelous, insulting, antagonistic, racist, misogynistic, prejudiced, aggressive or otherwise abusive content to or about any individual, group or organisation.
      2. You will not include swear words, inoffensive or otherwise inappropriate language or submit any images or text which are pornographic or violent or otherwise inappropriate nor will you link to or promote any website which contains inappropriate material.
      3. You will not submit promotional information about any illegal activities (such as piracy). We will not permit people to use the Service to distribute files which are pirated or aid in the production of pirated material.
      4. You will not submit any spam. Users of the Service that create spam will be permanently banned, their posts will be removed and their details will be submitted to the Stopforumspam service so that they will then not be able to use those details to re-register with either the Service or the many any other communities which utilise StopForumSpam to avoid spammers.
      5. You will not submit any Content which references an organisation or commercial enterprise you own, operate, are employed by or represent in any capacity, unless it is an official advertiser on the Service. This includes promotion of and providing support for that organisation. Organisations do have a right of reply to any criticism levied by users on the Service, but this may only be done without self-promotion and within the Terms and Rules of the Service.
      6. You will not create duplicate threads in more than one forum (“cross-posting”). You will pick the single most appropriate forum for your message. Duplicate posts will be deleted.
      7. You will not use URL shorteners. Shortening URLs is not permitted on the Service because it may prevent moderators from being able to verify the validity of any URLs posted.
      8. You will not abuse the post reactions system, either by soliciting positive reactions in posts or by Direct Messages, because positive reactions must be earned legitimately, or by using reactions inappropriately to deliberately antagonise members (e.g. leaving a 'funny' reaction for a post which is making a serious point).
   6. When registering for the Service and creating an account you agree that:
      1. You will register using an appropriate email address which you will keep updated. If you change your email address by, for example, moving to a new job, you will update your profile with your new email address. In addition, if you or your email provider utilises a spam filter, you will make the necessary adjustments to specifically allow emails from the Service through. If an email sent to you bounces back for any reason we may terminate your account.
      2. You will not utilise an avatar or signature which contain the branding, names, details or contact information for any organisation or commercial enterprise, unless it is an official advertiser on the Service which you officially represent, with the full knowledge and permission of the organisation or enterprise concerned.
      3. You will not utilise a login, user or display name (“login name”) that is inappropriate or offensive. We will not permit a login name which breaks any of the rules. We will not permit a login name which references a business, service or product unless the account belongs to an official advertiser on the Service. If you use a login name which is considered by us to be too similar to an existing user's login name (to the extent that it would cause confusion) then we reserve the right to change your login name, or require you to do so.
      4. You will not register more than once. Doing so may result in one or all registrations being revoked and all associated posts deleted.
      5. You will not attempt to re-register to the Service while serving a ban (which may be temporary or lifetime). Re-registering will lead to a permanent ban of the new account and a complaint to your internet service provider (“ISP”).
      6. You will not utilise an animated avatar as this can be distracting and/or annoying to other users of the Service.

3. Affiliate disclosure

   1. As an Amazon Associate and member of the eBay Partner Network, we may earn a commission or receive compensation for any products referred to or linked to the Amazon or eBay platforms from this Service.
   2. It is important to note that using our affiliate links does not result in any additional cost to you. The price of the product remains the same.
   3. Our primary goal is to provide valuable and helpful content to users of the Service and any earnings from affiliate links help support the operation and maintenance of the Service.
   4. Users of the Service are free to post links to these and other platforms as part of any relevant content they create, though these links must not contain any affiliate links themselves that prevent us from earning any commission which we may earn using our own affiliate links. Any links posted to external platforms or websites must also be made in agreement with 2.5.5 above.

These terms may be changed at any time without notice.
